PUPIL PREMIUM & SPORTS PREMIUM

At Prince William when we say we want our students to “dare to dream” we mean this for all our students, no matter what their background or starting point. We therefore support all our students with the setting of high target grades, timely interventions, individualised support and structured guidance. However with the additional funding the PPI scheme brings we can go further to support our Pupil Premium students. Prince William School is pleased to receive this funding for 8% of our pupils in years 7 - 13 at a sum of £75,000 for the 2014/2015 academic year.

In school we have several key staff focussing on ensuring students who receive this funding are able to benefit from it and narrow the gap between pupil premium students and others which is found nationally. However, as well as supporting their academic progress we at PWS also believe it is important to support the whole student through the support of school visits, provision of passports and involving students in initiatives which lead to a raising in aspirations which will benefit students both now and in the future.

Examination outcomes 2014/2015

The key impacts from the work completed on PPI 2014-15 were:-

An increase in number of students achieving 5A*-C including English and Maths PPI rising from 22% - 35%, (in line with the national average 2014)

An increase in English Level of progress from 27% to 50% (58% national)
An increase in Maths Levels of progress from 23% to 46% (48% national)
Improvement in projected PPI results for 2016 with positive progress P8 score and increase to 50% achieving C+ in English and Maths (year 10)
Reduction in no. of FTE for PPI students from to 9 students to 6 students.
Overall attendance from 91.7% to 91.2%. Improvement in attendance for PPI in year 9 and year 11.
